Effects of Dietary EUSOW Supplementation on Reproductive Performance of Lactating Sows
1. Objective of the Experiment
The experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary EUSOW supplementation on reproductive performance of lactating sows.
2. Site and Date of the Experiment
The experiment was carried out on the lactating sows in the pig farm of New Wellful Company of Leiyang for 55 days, from 10/27/2013 to 12/20/2013.
3. Materials and Methods
The experiment was carried out from day 90 of pregnancy to weaning. The control group has been fed with the stages of basal diet of sow (no EUSOW added), and details in the Table 1.
Table 1: design of experiment
4. Parameters for Assessment
Weanling litter weight gain
5. Results
In the first trial, the results showed that the weanling litter weight gain of the EUSOW group was 158.02 kg more than that of the control group, and average weanling litter weight gain in EUSOW group was higher than that in the control group by 9.88 kg. In the second trial, the weanling litter weight gain of EUSOW group was 494.21 kg, which was higher than that in the control group by 12.61%; average weanling litter weight gain in EUSOW group was higher than that in the control group by 9.83 kg.
In conclusion, average weanling litter weight gain and ADG in EUSOW group were better than that in the control group (Table 2):

6. Conclusions
These results demonstrated that dietary EUSOW supplementation could increase the weanling litter weight gain of piglets, and improved the reproductive performance of Lactating sows.
