Effects of dietary UNISOL Supplementation to Alleviate Weanling Stress of piglets
1. Objective of the experiment.
The experiment that was researched on effects of UNISOL on growth performance was aimed at whether UNISOL could alleviate the reaction to stress in weanling piglets. By comparing the effect of UNISOL with a competitive product (Anti-stress product), we want to select a more cost-effective product in livestock farming.
2. Site and Date of the experiment.
The experiment was carried out on the piglets (25 days old) in the pig farm of Huanshan Company of Shandong for 55 days, from 5/01/2012 to 6/24/2012.
3. Materials and Methods
A total of 80 piglets (25 days old) were used in the 55-day study to evaluate effects of UNISOL compared to competitive product in basal diet on growth performance. The competitive product was widely used in China. Piglets were randomly allotted to 2 dietary treatments with forty replicates each, feeding with UNISOL or competitive product in weaning, nursery group and vaccination (Table 2).

4. Parameters for Assessment
Weight gain, feed intake
The results showed that the final average weight of the UNISOL group was 0.41 kg more than that of the control group, and average weight gain of the UNISOL group was higher than that of the control group by 0.39 kg. Average feed intake of piglets in the UNISOL group increased by 0.261 kg, while the feed conversion rate reduced by 2.61% (Table 3).
Table 3: effects of dietary UNISOL supplementation on growth performance of piglets
The results demonstrate that dietary UNISOL supplementation can improve growth performance of piglets, also UNISOL can alleviate the reaction to stress and in weanling piglets. Comparing to the competitive product, UNISOL showed generally better effects and is more cost-effective.
